In celebration of Denver StartUp Week, the Denver Office of Economic Development (OED) today recognizes five high-growth companies as “Denver Gazelles.” Each firm has been named for its success and growth potential. The companies are comCables, Ibotta, Inspirato, Ping Identity and TrackVia.

“We commend these companies for their successful track record at demonstrating innovation while raising significant investment capital in today’s business environment,” said Paul Washington, OED executive director. “Named after the swift four-legged gazelle, these are fast-moving companies with unlimited futures. Each is poised to continue to do great things in the years ahead, and we are proud to help them grow and prosper in the Mile High City.”

The recognition of high-growth companies is one of many business retention initiatives identified in the OED’s JumpStart 2012 strategic plan. The OED named the Denver Gazelles based on referrals and internal research among its business development staff and the venture capital/financial community. The companies have collectively raised more than $99 million in capital over the past two years.

comCables is a manufacturer of end-to-end copper and fiber optic structured cabling. With 45 current employees, comCables projects hiring more than 15 additional staff this year, and more than 100 by 2017.

Founded in October 2011, Ibotta has created a mobile technology that replaces couponing with a series of fun and game-like interactions that give brands a new way to engage with consumers before they go shopping. Ibotta is working with eight of the world’s 10 largest consumer packaged goods companies.

Inspirato is a private, members-only destination club, created by the founders of Exclusive Resorts. Inspirato manages a growing portfolio of nearly $500 million of exceptional residences in the world's finest destinations. The club’s innovative business model – leasing rather than owning residences – has led to rapid growth since its January 2011 launch.

Ping Identity believes enterprises of all sizes should be free to engage in a world of cloud and mobile computing without compromising security and convenience. Ping Identity powers 800 of the world’s most demanding businesses with a simple start menu for the cloud. The company delights customers with convenient single sign on to all of their cloud applications, while providing IT with visibility and control.

TrackVia makes cloud-based software that companies can use to build customized online spreadsheet and business-tracking tools. Founded in 2007, the firm plans to double its staff, revenue and customer base over the next year.

COMCABLES TEES OFF TO BENEFIT SUMMER PROGRAMS AND SUN VALLEY YOUTH CENTER

June 2012 (Denver,Co) -- ComCables, the Denver based manufacturer of structured cabling solutions, is hosting it’s 10th Annual Golf Tournament on June 14th, 2012 at Fox Hollow, Lakewood, CO. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sun Valley Youth Center’s existing programs and allow Sun Valley youth to attend summer camp. Those wishing to register to participate in the golf tournament or to contribute through one of many available sponsorships, should contact Kolleen Davis at ComCables (303) 296-1000 or visit www.sunvalleyyouthcenter.org

The tournament will kick off on Thursday, June 14th at Fox Hollow Golf Club in Lakewood, Colorado, with registration at 7:00 am and a shotgun start at 7:30 am. Following the tournament, an awards and recognition luncheon will be held.

About the Sun Valley Youth Center

The neighborhood of Sun Valley is located within Denver’s poorest zip code and remains one of the most distressed, high-risk communities. Sun Valley Youth Center has served the youth and families of this forgotten community since 1998. Providing child care, tutoring, youth development, mentoring, and life essentials are only a few of the programs offered to children who have little, if any positive alternatives in their environment. During the summer, the Sun Valley Youth Center opens its doors to become a day camp for the children, while maintaining an emphasis on education. The children are required to read for 30 minutes a day while logging their reading time in journals. Upon completing their reading, children are able to go on group outings to state parks, museums, numerous Denver Metro area libraries, and attend summer camp in the mountains. During the summer the children are continually introduced to various organized activities and adventures. These activities are specifically designed to allow for fun and individual growth that children living below the poverty line seldom experience. Throughout our program children are affirmed by caring Sun Valley Youth Center staff and volunteers who believe all children are valuable members of society, with intrinsic value that is determined by where they live, who their parents are, or what was in their past.

“Our Mission: Empowering Youth to reach their God-given potential”

comCables Distributes Success

DENVER, CO (May 10, 2012) – comCables, a Denver based manufacturer of structured cabling and low voltage connectivity systems, has opened their doors for national distribution. comCables had been primarily selling
directly to contractors, but after tremendous success and an increase in demand, comCables is meeting this need. “Our contractors have been instrumental in working with us to develop a high-performance, reliable and easy to install product line. These same contractors are now asking for more availability of the product through new distribution channels,” says Greg Greenwood, CEO/President.

Launching only 4 months ago, the comCables Distribution Team has already signed on six Stocking Distributors. So far comCables has expanded into Texas, Ohio, and the Mississippi River Valley, and are continuing to bring on additional Distributors. “We are gaining momentum quickly through demonstrating our value to these new channels”, says Derek Davis, Regional Sales Manager. “We actually roll up our sleeves to deliver the Distributor onboarding experience over a week’s time to ensure their team can demonstrate comCables value proposition to their customers.”

Signing on Distributors in such a short amount of time speaks volumes about comCables market value, differentiation and onboarding process. comCables is a multi-front threat; guaranteeing product performance and quality assurance,
committing a comCables account expert for the in-depth onboarding process and delivering a new market competitive advantage. The combination of these elements puts the Distributor in an enhanced position with their customers and
prospects. After the onboarding process, Distributors are successfully selling comCables products from day one.

“Our Distribution Program offers high-performance products while offering significantly more profit potential,” says Tom McAllister, National Accounts Manager, RITP.

If you are an Electrical, Industrial, Telecom or Datacom Distributor, and are interested in becoming a comCables Authorized Stocking Distributor, call 303-296-1000 or email info@comCables.com.

Denver, CO (January 18, 2011) – comCables, a Denver-based manufacturer of structured cabling solutions, will release the results of its third party field verified performance test at the BICSI Winter Conference in Orlando. comCables enlisted a principal certifying firm to administer the independent test to ensure its products’ performance.

“Our products exceeding industry standards in a non-negotiable at comCables.” said Andy Work, Director of Product Development at comCables. “Our products have always been UL/ETL verified but this test was an extra step we took to guarantee high-quality performance.”
The independent test was conducted by Compass Telecommunications, an Intertek/ETL field testing company. Compass tested the comCables structured cabling solution against: Amp, Leviton, Panduit and CommScope Uniprise. The test measured the performance of each brand’s CAT 6e solution in the following categories:

- Next Margin Main
- Next Margin Remote
- PS Next Margin Main
- PS Next Margin Remote
- Return Loss Margin Main
- Return Loss Margin Remote
- Insertion Loss Margin
In all the above categories, comCables’ products exceeded the industry standard, ANSI/TIA-568-C.2. Moreover, comCables’ solutions performed on par with the other manufacturers tested.
“All tests passed for this certification.” said Julie Paulson, President of Practical Business. “This means when comCables products are installed, they will reliably be part of the solution.”
comCables’ product performance is equivalent to other major manufacturers, yet the company approaches the market fundamentally different by selling direct to contractors. By distributing what it manufactures, comCables saves its clients an average of 30%.
“We are proud that we save our clients significant money but aren’t willing to compromise an ounce of quality for it.” said Tom McAllister, National Sales Manager for comCables. “With our innovative business model, we don’t have to choose between costing less or having top-performing products- we have both.”
comCables has its own testing laboratory and plans to continue independent testing to ensure the integrity of its products.
